India logs 3.37 lakh new COVID-19 cases, 488 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi/UNI: India recorded 3,37,704 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 3,89,03,731, while the death toll increased to 4,88,884 as 488 succumbed to the virus.

On the other hand, 2,42,676 more people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases to 3,63,01,482.

The recovery rate stands at 93.31 per cent.

The active caseload now stands at 21,13,365, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, a total of 10,050 cases of new variant of COVID-19, Omicron, have been detected so far in the country.

The Ministry further said, 71.34 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 161.16 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
