India records 14,146 new Covid cases in last 24 hours, lowest in 7 months

New Delhi/IBNS: India registered 14,146 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, lowest in 229 days, the Union Health Ministry reported Sunday.

 During this period, 144 deaths were recorded in the country due to coronavirus, which took the total death count to 4,52,124.

The recovery rate from the virus is at 98.10 percent currently, which is the highest since March 2020.

A total of 19,788 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours with total recoveries touching 3,34,19,749.

Active cases account for less than 1 percent of total cases, currently at 0.57 percent, the lowest since March 2020, the health ministy stated.

India's active caseload currently stands at 1,95,846, also the lowest in 220 days.

Meanwhile, 97.65 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
