India records further drop as 48,698 fresh COVID-19 cases recorded in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded further drop in daily COVID-19 cases as 48,698 fresh cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health released data on Saturday.

India's Active Caseload declines to 5,95,565; less than 6 lakhs after 86 days.

Active cases constitute 1.97% of total cases.

The death toll due to the disease now reached 394493 after 1183 people died in the past 24 hours due to the deadly virus which is believed to have originated from China.

64,818 patients recovered from COVID-19 during last 24 hours.

Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 44th consecutive day.

Recovery Rate increases to 96.72%.

Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.97%.

Daily positivity rate at 2.79%, less than 5% for 19 consecutive days.
