India records slight spike in COVID-19 cases, 497 people die

New Delhi: India registered a slight spike in COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours as 38,353 people were detected to be infected with the virus, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.

During the last 24 hours, 40,013patients recovered from the disease.

India's Active caseload currently 3,86,351 which is the lowest in 140 days.

Active cases constitute 1.21 percent of total cases. It is the lowest since Mar 2020.

Recovery rate currently stands at 97.45 percent.

Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5 percent. It is currently at 2.34 percent.

In the past 24 hours, 497 people died due to COVID-19.
