India reports 16,299 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/UNI: A total of 16,299 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in India, the Health Ministry said Thursday.

According to the bulletin issued by the Health Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,42,06,996 while the death toll touched 5,26,879 as 53 more succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, 19,431 people recovered from the disease, taking the recovery to 4,35,55,041. The recovery rate stands at 98.53 per cent.

The active caseload stands at 1,25,076, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 87.92 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 207.29 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
