India reports 1,946 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/UNI: India reported 1,946 new Covid-19 cases taking the total active cases to 25,968, as per the Health Ministry data Wednesday.

As many as four people succumbed to the disease taking the overall toll to 5,28,923.

There were 2,417 recoveries made taking the number of those recuperated to 4,40,79,485.

While the fatality rate was recorded at 1.19%, the active cases comprise 0.06% of the total infections so far, and the national recovery rate from Covid-19 stands at 98.76%.

The government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Wednesday 89.91 crore people have been vaccinated so far against coronavirus.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,60,806 tests have been conducted.

"India has administered 219.41 crore (94.97 cr Second Dose and 21.92 cr Precaution Dose) of Covid-19 vaccine, so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," the ministry data said.
