India reports 2,539 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India reported 2,539 COVID-19 cases while the toll went up by 60 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.

In the same span of time, 4,491 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

The recovery rate has further improved to 98.73%.

The active cases, which now currently stands at 30,799, comprises 0.07% of the total cases.

Under the national vaccination drive, 180.80 crore anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses have so far been administered in the country.

Meanwhile, the vaccination process for children aged 12-14 began in the country on Wednesday.

The government has approved Biological E's Corbevax to inoculate children of the age bracket.
