India reports 28,591 COVID cases, 338 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India added 28,591 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.

The country also reported 338 deaths during the same period.

The test positivity rate stands at 1.87 per cent, less than 3percent for the last 13 days.

The active cases in the country account for 1.16 per cent of total cases and the active caseload stands at 3,84,921.

With 20,487 cases, Kerala has a major share in the new cases reported on Sunday. The state also reported 181 deaths.

The recovery rate is currently at 97.51 percent with 34,848 recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours .

Meanwhile, 73.82 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under nationwide vaccination drive.
