New Delhi/UNI: India is aiming for 1 crore Covid-19 vaccination again on Monday and the country has achieved close to 90 lakh vaccination by 6 PM, according to data showing on CoWIN.

Two states--Uttar Pradesh and Bihar--are aiding with a special vaccination campaign. The states have collectively administered more than 35 lakh doses so far in a day, officials said.

If achieved, this would be the third time that India would have crossed the magic figure of a 1 crore vaccination in a single day.

Earlier, on Tuesday, August 31, the country had administered over 1.28 crore doses of Covid-19 in a day, the highest single-day vaccinations so far.

India hit the milestone of administering over 1 crore jabs in a single day for the first time on August 27.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had congratulated the citizens and the health workers for the achievement. "Record vaccination numbers today! Crossing 1 crore is a momentous feat. Kudos to those getting vaccinated and those making the vaccination drive a success."

India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 68.75 crore (68,75,41,762), according to the union health ministry.
