India's Covid-19 recovery rate improves to 94.93 pct, active cases stand at 3,56,546

New Delhi/IBNS: India registered a fresh jump of 30,254 coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, taking the country's tally to 98.57 lakhs, the Union Health Ministry data stated on Sunday morning.

During this period, the Asian country reported 391 deaths linked to the deadly virus taking the fatality toll to 1,43,019.

The number of active cases stands at 3,56,546 while 93,57,464 people have been cured of the infection.

The recovery rate currently stands at 94.93 per cent as of Sunday.

"India's COVID19 recovery rate improves to 94.93% as on December 13, 2020," the Health Ministry stated.

India is the second worst-hit country after the United States where the pandemic has affected 16 million people. The death toll in the US is closing in on the 300,000-mark.
