After the success of its third Lunar mission, Chandryaan-3 ensured soft landing on the Moon's south polar region, a buoyant ISRO is all set for yet another inter-planetary mission --to explore the Sun on September 2.

ISRO on Monday announced that Aditya-L1 spacecraft, the first space-based Indian mission to study the Sun will be launched from the SHAR Range, Sriharikota at 1150 hrs.

ISRO said it will be using its workhorse and reliable launch vehicle PSLV-C57 for the mission.

The Sun is the nearest star and the largest object in the Solar system.

In a post on 'X", the Indian Space Agency said, "PSLV-C57/Aditya-L1 Mission: The launch of Aditya-L1, the first space-based Indian observatory to study the Sun, is scheduled for September 2, 2023, at 11:50 hrs IST from Sriharikota".

The Satellite has already been integrated with the launch vehicle, ISRO Chairman S.Somanath said and the countdown for this prestigious mission is likely to begin on Friday.
