Jammu and Kashmir and COVID19: Positivity rate reduces to 6% in Srinagar

Srinagar: In a good sign, the covid-19 positivity rate in Srinagar has reduced from over nine to six percenteven as the recovery rate has shown an improvement, the weekly data compiled by districtadministration reveal.

An official said that the positivity rate has reduced from 9.5 to 6 percent.

“The recovery rate in Srinagaris 93.6 percent, which is slightly better than the average national recovery rate,” the official said.

The weekly data of past week (30 May to 5 June) reveals that 3106 people were under home quarantineand 238 in hospital quarantine.

Srinagar has, as per weekly data, 96 containment zones and 56 microcontainment zones.

Till June 5, as per official data, Srinagar had 66641 positive cases out of which 62413 recovered.

The‘COVID19 war room’ established by district administration, an official said, has helped public at large inseeking medical tele-consultation and redressal of civic issues, amid pandemic restrictions.

The facility can be called for oxygen cylinders, ICU beds, essential medicines, ambulance, testing,vaccination, tele-consultation, etc. From the ‘COVID19 war room’ experts provide advice to the callersand the asymptomatic COVID19 patients about medical treatment and protocol.
