Low pressure develops over Arabian Sea

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 10 (UNI) A low pressure area has formed over southeast Arabian Sea, adjoining Lakshadweep area and east-central Arabian Sea, under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep area and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea, a statement from Meteorological department, here on Monday said. 

It is very likely to concentrate into a depression during next 48 hours over southeast and adjoining east-Central Arabian Sea.

It is very likely to move ­north-west and intensify further into a cyclonic storm subsequently, it added.

Squally weather with wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph, is likely to prevail over southwest, southeast and adjoining east central Arabian sea, southwest Bay of Bengal and Karnataka coasts.

Strong winds from south-west direction with speed reaching 35-45 kmph is likely along and off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the above mentioned areas.
