Maharashtra records 63,294 fresh Covid-19 cases

Mumbai/IBNS: Maharashtra recorded new 63,294 coronavirus infections on Sunday, taking the tally to 3,407,245, according to the state’s health department bulletin.

This is 7,883 higher than Saturday when the state recorded 55,411 Covid-19 cases.

The state also recorded 394 related fatalities, after which the death toll climbed to 57,987.

The rate of fatality is currently at  1.79%.

 In the last 24 hours, 263,137 tests were done, the bulletin said.

The active cases in Maharashtra stand at 565,587.

A total of 34,008 people recovered over the period of last 24 hours, after which the total recoveries reached 2,782,161.

Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra, reported 9,986 fresh cases and 79 deaths in the last 24 hours.
