Maharashtra reports 2,971 Covid cases, 5 deaths in last 24 hrs

Aurangabad/Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra reported 2,971 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 5 related deaths, according to health bulletin on Sunday.

With the addition of these new cases, the state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 79,82,334 and the death toll has gone up to 1,47,934.

Meanwhile, 3,515 people were cured and discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall count of recoveries to 78,10,953.

The state's recovery rate significantly came down to 97.85 per cent and the fatality rate to 1.85 per cent.

So far 8,20,82,288 samples have been tested in the state for Covid and of them, 79,82,334 have tested positive i.e. 9.73 per cent.

Presently, 23,447 active patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, for Covid, the bulletin added.
