Kolkata, Dec 21 (IBNS) Nova IVI Fertility organised a continuing medical education (CME) in Kolkata to discuss the latest updates in Assisted Reproductive Technology on Sunday.

Promoting the highest standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and improved patient outcomes, related to the treatment of infertility, Nova IVI Fertility through this CME provided a forum for clinicians, academicians and other professionals in allied fields to create or renew collegial and collaborative relationships that enhance their effectiveness, promote high standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and improved patient outcomes

Assisted reproductive technology (ART) offers infertility treatment for couples who are unable to conceive by other methods. ART includes all treatments in which both eggs and sperm are handled.  Use of ART has doubled over the past decade.

Rohit Gutgutia, Clinical Director and Infertility Specialist, Nova IVI Fertility, Kolkata. stated, “Over the last couple of years, significant advancements have occurred in the field of infertility treatments. IVF is one of the various infertility treatments in the Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) category. Treatment options are considered depending on each couple’s specific problems and include various medical, surgical and hormonal treatments to enable pregnancy.”

A senior fertility expert at Nova IVI Fertility, Kolkata, Arindam Rath, added, “Assisted Reproductive Technology has moved beyond helping only infertile couples. Advancements in ART like Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) which is a specialized form of IVF, now enable doctors to assess the risk of children afflicted with genetic disorders and helps couples in having genetically healthy babies.”
