Pakistan once again witnesses rise in COVID-19 cases
Islamabad: Pakistan is once again witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases as 847 new instances were reported in the past 24 hours, media reports said.
Pakistan on Saturday reported 12 deaths.
The number of total infections in the federal capital has risen to 18,764, according to the officials, reported The Nation.
The country has registered 6739 COVID-19 deaths so far.
Pakistani Minister Asad Umar has claimed that the country's mortality rate due to COVID-19 has increased 140 percent last week.
He warned the public they should not ignore safety protocols.
"Last week daily covid mortality was 12. This is a 140% increase vs few weeks back. We are collectively committing a blunder by recklessly ignoring all sop's & the results have started to show. If we do not change our current path we will lose both lives and livelihoods," he tweeted.
He said people should change their current path.
