Puducherry: Man, who tested positive for COVID-19, dies

Puducherry/UNI:  A 71-year-old Septuagenarian man, tested positive for Coronavirus and hails from Chalakkara of Mahe in Union Territory of Puducherry, died at the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital in Kannur of Kerala on Saturday.

Reports reaching heaquarters here said the victim was taking treatment for kidney ailment in a private hospital at Kannur since April 1, where he was tested positive for COVID-19.

Following this, he was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College hospital in Kannur where he died.

The deceased relatives and others who had come in contact with him were isolated earlier and tested negative for the virus.

This is the first COVID-19 death from Mahe in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

It may be noted that a 68-year old-woman from Mahe, who was tested positive for Coronavirus, hadrecovered from the disease and was discharged earlier.
