TCS' Patient Care System for Operation Smile goes live

Kolkata, Feb 6 (IBNS): Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, on Friday announced that the end-to-end Patient Care System developed for Operation Smile in Guwahati, Assam has gone live.
From the paper based files to paperless web based solution, the enhanced Patient Care System provides seamless integration of various workflows like Screening, Surgery and Follow up with real-time information, to assist in Operation Smile team to plan its activities effectively and efficiently.
 
Hosted on the Cloud using the latest technologies, the Patient Care System provides an updated, real-time, consolidated view of all the patients treated and various interventions done by teams.
 
The new system built by TCS, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility, provides an insight into patient history in case of multiple visits/interventions required for a patient and helps effectively monitor and track progress of every Patient in the system. The software can also provide insights and analysis for further research and help enhance patient experience.

Maj Gen M S Sandhu, Sr Advisor to Board of Trustees, Operation Smile India, said, “TCS has developed and donated a Patient Care System to Operation Smile India and hosted the same on BSNL cloud server. The Patient Care System will enable a consolidated view of all the patients treated and various interventions done by the team at the Guwahati Centre. This is another significant milestone is the organization’s endeavours in providing compassionate comprehensive cleft care for patients of the NE India."
 
“The Board of Trustees and Management of Operation Smile India wishes to place on record its deep appreciation and gratitude to TCS for undertaking this project as part of its CSR initiatives,” he added.
 
Health has been one of the primary focus of CSR in TCS and for the last two years TCS has been associated with Operation Smile in India. TCS is also working in close collaboration with Operation Smile, China since 2013 in designing comprehensive IT system for the hospitals in Hangzhou.
