West Bengal reports biggest one-day jump of 3274 cases, recovery rate nears 78 per cent

Kolkata/IBNS: With highest-ever single-day spike of 3274 cases, West Bengal's Covid-19 tally on Sunday reached 1,38,870, including 28069 active cases, 2794 deaths and 1,08,007 discharges, reports said.

According to a bulletin issued by Bengal Health and Family Welfare (WBHFW) department, in the last 24 hours, 57 more coronavirus related fatalities were reported while 3048 Covid-19 patients were discharged from different health facilities across the state, taking the recovery rate to 77.78 per cent from 77.41 per cent.

Officials said that West Bengal had tested 15,61,311 samples till date with a record number of 37149 tests conducted in 70 testing facilities in the state in the past 24 hours.

Presently, 2533 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 48140 people are under home surveillance in the state while 1989 persons are in 200 government-run safe homes.
