Kolkata/IBNS: A 57-year-old man from Belgharia in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, who had earlier tested positive for novel coronavirus, died at a local private health facility on Wednesday morning, taking the Covid-19 death toll in the state to six, officials said.

According to reports, the man, who used to run a fast food counter had no recent travel records to either abroad or any other state, was undergoing treatment at Zenith hospital in Belgharia since Mar 26.

Earlier on Tuesday, Kolkata's Beliaghata ID hospital discharged three Covid-19 patients as they reportedly recovered from novel coronavirus infections.

These three persons, including state's first Covid-19 case, have been sent to a mandatory home quarantine for next 14 days.

Presently, West Bengal is treating 28 Covid-19 patients at different health facilities.
