Bengali couple promoting Indian music and culture among young Americans

| @indiablooms | Oct 28, 2025, at 12:32 am

In the heart of the United States, far from the bustling streets of Kolkata or the serene ghats of Varanasi, a nonprofit organization has been quietly nurturing the spirit of Indian culture among the younger generations.

For the last few years, this group has worked tirelessly to create a bridge between the Indian heritage and American upbringing of children growing up in diaspora communities.

This group is known as United Indian Associations of Southern California, or UIASC, originally co-founded by Dr. Sukrit and Jayesha Mukherjee, along with a few prominent community stalwarts from Southern California.

The organization’s mission is simple yet profound: to preserve and propagate the timeless essence of Indian music, dance, and cultural traditions.

Through carefully curated workshops, music lessons, and cultural initiatives
