Kolkata, Apr 6 (IBNS): If you have been looking for an excuse to visit Kolkata's latest boutique hotel Raajkutir presented by Ambuja Hospitality, then here it is -- the East India Room will hold a Chef's Tasting Menu this Poila Baisakh.

In keeping with its ambiance sporting traditional Bengali culture with touches of European sensibilities, Raajkutir has decided to ride on nostalgia for its first Bengali New Year.

The Raajbari is being decked up to reflect the times gone by while patrons will get to savour the forgotten delicacies meticulously curated from the cookbooks of old zamindar families at the East India Room.

At the East India Room, ‘The Colonial Table’ will offer interactive appetizers from the chef’s station followed by a delectable meal to be served by the maître de hotel.

Those with a sweet tooth will be able to take their pick from the trolley serving an assiette (plates) of desserts.

Highlights from the curated menu include AamPora Shorbot or ‘Beler Ghol’ as part of the welcome drinks; appetizers such as ‘English Origin Fish N Chips’, or ‘Raja Nrishinghoprotap’s Dungar Chicken’, ‘Old Dhaka City Jali Kebab’ and ‘Dhakai Porota’, and ‘Portuguese Bandel Cheese Malakoff'; main dishes such as ‘Tiffin Box Bhappa Chingri’, ‘Chittagonger Murgi’, ‘Colonial Mutton Dak Bungalow’, and ‘Nashipur Palacer Kolaiaer Dal’, ‘Tostori Mocha’, ‘Phulkopi Roast’ and ‘Dhakai Pulao’; and desserts such as ‘Makha Sondesh, TilChhai’, ‘Sor Doi, ‘Sakthigarher Langcha’, ‘Narkol Kheer Diyae Patisapta’, ‘Black Forest Pudding’ and ‘Caramel Custard’.
