Mountain View, Jun 22 (IBNS): Web giant Google on Thursday celebrated German-American musician Oskar Fischinger's 117th birth anniversary by putting up an interactive doodle.

Fischinger was an artist, musician and film-maker who left Nazi Germany in 1936 for Hollywood.

He was known for his stop-motion animations synchronised to music.

The doodle also opens with a Fischinger's famous quote: "Music is not limited to the world of sound. There exists a music of the visual world."

The doodle allows users to create their own art, akin to Fischinger's, by clicking on the diamonds to choose the notes.
