India gets Netflix’s new ‘Clips’ feature — Here’s why it changes everything

Netflix on Thursday announced the launch of ‘Clips’, a new vertical video feed aimed at improving content discovery on mobile devices.

Describing the feature, Netflix said, “Think of ‘Clips’ as a personalized highlight reel that helps you decide what to watch or play next, without endless scrolling.”

The feature allows users to watch short clips from series, films and specials tailored to their preferences, with options to explore full titles instantly.

Designed for Faster Discovery and Engagement

Netflix said the feature is built to turn discovery into action quickly, offering:

Add to ‘My List’: Save movies and shows directly from the feed

Share: Send clips or recommendations via text or social media

Explore: Browse personalized content for different moods and occasions

The company added that ‘Clips’ will evolve to include podcasts, live programming and curated collections based on genres and user interests.

Focus on Mobile-First Experience

“Mobile is an important part of how Netflix members stay connected to the entertainment they love,” said Elizabeth Stone.

“With our enhanced navigation and Clips, we’re delivering a more personalized and immersive experience designed for the way members use their phones — whether it’s discovering a new title or enjoying quick moments of entertainment.”

Rollout Across Key Markets Including India

The feature began rolling out on April 30 in multiple markets, including India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines and South Africa. A broader global rollout is expected in the coming months.
