ISM Dhanbad to get IIT status, India to add six more to its list
New Delhi, May 26 (IBNS) Celebrating their second year in office, the central government on Thursday decided to open six new Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT's) while upgrading Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad into an IIT, reports said.
The six new places are Tirupati, Palakkad, Dharwad, Bhilai, Goa and Jammu.
With the initiation of the new ones, India will house 23 IIT's.
