Kolkata, Apr 13 (IBNS):Restaurant Saptapadi on Wednesday inaugurated its second outlet in south Kolkata.

Apart from serving the delicacies like Murgir Paturi, Kancha Lanka Murgi, Grilled Ilish & Nolen Gurer Caramel Custard, to name a few, the new outlet of Saptapadi will offer a wide variety of Bengali fusion food coined as Combo Bongo Fusion.

Chef Ranjan Biswas, owner, Saptapadi said: “The main concept behind introducing the fusion menu is to give a local touch to continental food at an affordable price. Each of the items contains fewer calories, keeping the health aspect in mind. We have tried to bring a twist in the food, so that people will experience something new.”

Some fusion delicacies include tex mex nachos with refried mocha (Mexican tortilla chips served with refried banana flower blend), Murgi Bhora Mousse with Tomato Tulsi Coolie (Chicken breast stuffed with nuttie mousse served with bongo-Italian sauce served with sczwan pulao and house salad).

Ranga Aloo and Karai Suti Mangshor Pie (contemporary Scottish dish made with Bengal mutton and sweet potato served with garlic bread and house salad), baked dab chingri alaska, ilish steak, Bengal gremolata crusted Kolkata bhetki, cheesy phulkopir fritters and crispy chili mourala among others.

On asking about their future plans, owner, Chef Ranjan Biswas said: “We also have plans to open two more outlets, one in Kolkata and another one in Mumbai in this year itself.”
