Kolkata's Chowman chain of restaurants offering special discount to all those born in the Year of the Rat
Kolkata/IBNS: One of Kolkata's popular chain of Chinese restaurants, Chowman, is offering a special discount this Chinese New Year, to all those born in the Year of the Rat.
According to the Chinese zodiac each year is identified by an animal.
This year it is the Year of the Rat.
So those born in the earlier Year of the Rat -- 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 -- will be offered a flat discount of 10 per cent on the total bill between January 25 and February 25, 2020 by Chowman across all their outlets.
The offer is valid for dine-in only and on the production of valid ID proof.
The Chinese New Year is celebrated with much fanfare in China and everywhere else in the world where the Chinese people have settled down over the years.
In keeping with the celebratory mood, the restaurant chain will serve special dishes, such as Sautéed Prawn in Chilli Plum sauce, Fire Roasted Mandarin Chicken, Hong Kong Style Fish, Deep Fried Barbeque Spare Ribs, Hot Pot Hunan Chicken, Honey Chilli Crispy Lamb, Mountain chilli squid. Other favourites like Dimsums, Roasted Chilli Pork, Jumbo Prawns, Chilli Wine Fish and Crab Meat in Chilli Basil are also available.
And of course, desserts like Toffee Walnut with Ice-cream, Brownie with Ice-cream, and Darsan.
A meal for two will cost around Rs 1000 plus taxes
