Dimapur/Nagaland: Tushar Shrestha, a successful entrepreneur originally from Nepal, has made a name for himself in the burgeoning dining-out industry of Dimapur. His renowned restaurant, 'Funky Buddha,' established in August 2016, has garnered widespread popularity for its Chinese and pan-Asian cuisine.

In addition to Funky Buddha, Shrestha has ventured into the coffee business with 'The Himalayan Beans' and recently launched 'Sky Lounge' in Circular Road, Dimapur. Employing a workforce of 48 individuals, Shrestha has become a significant contributor to employment in the region.

Reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey, Shrestha emphasizes the importance of overcoming challenges and finding a sense of accomplishment in his work. Despite facing obstacles like insincere employees and interference from Naga Political Groups, Shrestha remains motivated by the opportunity for professional growth and recognition.

As a restaurant owner, he believes that receiving awards and accolades not only instills pride but also serves as a driving force to continually strive for excellence.

Managing a team of 48 staff members comes with its own set of challenges, but Shrestha emphasizes the significance of open and transparent communication. Fostering trust within the team is essential, as it promotes unity, collaboration, and innovation.

However, Shrestha acknowledges that in cases of consistent underperformance, severe misconduct, or misalignment with company values, letting go of employees becomes necessary.

When hiring new employees, Shrestha prioritizes qualifications, technical skills, and reliability. He values qualities such as punctuality and a strong work ethic in potential candidates. Upholding honesty, treating others with dignity, and embracing individuality are some of the core values that guide Shrestha's approach to business.

Looking ahead, Shrestha envisions branching out within and beyond Nagaland in the next five years. He advises aspiring entrepreneurs to develop resilience, embrace creativity, and persevere in the face of setbacks.

Additionally, he emphasizes the importance of giving back to the community and helping others along the way.

Tushar Shrestha's entrepreneurial journey serves as an inspiration for those aiming to make their mark in the dynamic world of business. With his sights set on expansion and his commitment to excellence, Shrestha continues to leave a lasting impact on Dimapur's restaurant scene.
