Ninth edition of Art Bengaluru opens on November 2, will also feature Film Bengaluru
Bengaluru/IBNS: Artists and art lovers prepare yourself for a month-long extravaganza in November with Art Bengaluru slated to begin on November 2.
The ninth edition of this art event will also feature Film Bengaluru, an International Film Festival organized in partnership with the UNESCO MGIEP, focusing on the theme, “Kindness Matters” (November 14 – 17, 2019).
There will be 21 well known artists from across the world, including the US, Netherlands, France and Saudi Arabia along with close to 200 artworks (including paintings, hand-blown glass sculpture, installations, video projects, 3D printed sculpture, photography, mixed media and digital art) at this year's event.
Talks, workshops, curated walks and other art experiences will be held during the duration of the festival.
This edition of Art Bengaluru will showcase some of the dramatic works of Dutch photographer Daan Oude Elferink who often shoots historical monuments that are off-limits to the public.
Long-forgotten castles, decrepit hospitals, deserted industrial facilities -- each image tells a magical story of life lived once upon a time.
It will be interesting to listen to this man arrested several times on charges of trespassing talk about his shoots and the danger involved in the process.
Haribabu Natesan wants the world to realize the amount of junk it creates.
Through his artworks, Natesan provokes people to think about the materials they consume; when they discard a cycle or computer, when they re-decorate their homes, etc.

He uses machines and algorithms and often creates them as an essential part of his art process, becoming the cyborg artist.
He often juxtaposes traditional art media and tools along with machines and computation, creating a space to both direct, and be guided by the machine
Art Bengaluru 2019 will take place from November 2 - 30, 2019, at UB City, Bengaluru.
