Odette restaurant led by chef Julien Royer was named the Best Restaurant in Asia this year during the gala Tuesday night.

India chef Gaggan Anand's Gaggan in Bangkok ranked second. Two restaurants from Macao, Jade Dragon and Wing Lei Palace, were included in Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2019.

Top chefs and restaurateurs from across Asia also witnessed the announcement of individual awards, such as sustainable restaurant award and Asia's best pastry chef, among others.

The event, supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), has been held in Macao for two consecutive years as part of its efforts to develop a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Creative City of Gastronomy.
