The book, which was launched on Feb 11, has been written by sports journalist-academician-author Boria Majumder and Sudip Mullick of Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick, one of Kolkata’s best known confectioners.

The guests of honour at the launch were fashion designer Agnimitra Paul, former cricketer, anchor-commentator, Deep Dasgupta, and sports journalist Gautam Bhattacharya.

Misti Magic O Balaram Mullicker Galpo is the 133-year story of Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick.

The book deals with various aspects of its growth and distinctiveness, and also contains the recipes of 55 of its well-known sweets and savouries.

Speaking on the occasion, Majumder said: "I stayed alone for quite some time in my life. I felt lonely so had used cooking as an escape route. I used to eat sweets wherever I used to stay. From Toronto to Melbourne, I search for sweets shops."
