Kolkata, Aug 22 (IBNS): The US Consulate in Kolkata in association with NASSCOM recently organised a workshop on Business Communications for Entrepreneurs as part of their effort to boost the entrepreneurial eco-system.

The workshop was conducted by American trainer Dieter Bruhn, trainer, educator, leader, entrepreneur and cross-cultural expert with more than 25 years of global training experience.

Dieter Bruhn, worked with a group of 11 entrepreneurs (at least half of them women) for one week in Kolkata.

The program focused on preparing the participants to deliver an organized and well-polished business pitch in front of a live audience.

In the workshop, participants learned about networking, negotiating, business etiquette, effective presentation skills, elevator pitches, and formal pitches.

Participants were coached on how to determine which speech registers they will use with different audiences, how to create an engaging presentation, and how to pitch a winning business idea.

Bruhn worked with the participants on refining their final pitches for a public showcasing on the last day of the programme.

American Center Kolkata Director and Public Affairs Officer of the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata, Monica Shie said, “We at the U.S. Consulate have seen the dynamic entrepreneurial climate in eastern India and would like to continue our partnership through professional development courses.”

The U.S. Consulate is hosting similar workshops in Guwahati, Shillong and Ranchi.
