Viacom 18 returns with 3rd edition of VDOT EMERGE

Mumbai, May 14 (IBNS): Viacom18 has launched the third edition of VDOT EMERGE, an underground musical festival to kick off this May.

Conceptualised by LIVE Viacom18, the five city gig will witness performances by UK BASS collective Engine-Earz Experiment and DJ ASA, who's been making waves across the electronic music scene with his EP with Koan Sound on Skrillex' label, OWSLA.

The multi-city gigs bring contemporary international musical talent to India, and provide for an ideal gateway between India and the brilliant global sounds.

The first two editions witnessed the talented Jeremy Loops &American band – Dinner and a Suit enthral the audience with their lively performances.

Commenting on this underground music festival, Jaideep Singh, Senior Vice President and Business Head – INS, Viacom18 Pvt. Ltd. said, “Today’s youth are well aware of the developments in the global music scenario. Along with a growing popularity of the acclaimed artists, there is also a rise in underground music. Live events are gaining prominence as the audience enjoys engaging with their favourite artists and getting up close and personal. The aim of VDOT EMERGE is to fulfil this need and expose music lovers to a wide range of genres from the international music scene.”

Commenting on the association Ferzad Palia, SVP & GM, English Entertainment, Viacom18 Media said, “VDOT EMERGE is a dedicated platform that does not only showcase international talent in India but creates fresh & unique experiences that music lovers can take back with them as well as reminisce through the channel when it airs on Vh1.”

The talented, DJ/Producer and founder of Engine-Earz Experiment, Prash Mistry,commented, “I'm hyped about my India trip to DJ for this UK bass music special. It's always been a big rush for me to carry this musical culture I grew up with in England back to the land of my ancestors. This time I'm bringing with me one of UK's most cutting edge producers from Bristol, ASA. He has been making waves across the electronic music scene with his record with Koan Sound on Skrillex' label, OWSLA."

"At the Mumbai launch we're collaborating with Orifice Vulgatron from Foreign Beggars and local legend, Randolph aka Func from Pentagram/Shaair n Func. Since we are all very passionate about encouraging new talent in India we'll be running a masterclass with all of these artists in Mumbai on 21st May at True School of Music just before the show," he said.

Starting with Mumbai, the group will tour across 5 cities like Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata from  May 21 to 30.
