A promising 13 business dealings have commenced between Singapore and West Bengal," Banerjee said in a Facebook post.

She said: "I am confident that in the near future we will have a stronger and more dynamic business relationship with Singapore. This is part of our bigger dream to have local roots with global pursuits, and make our 'Biswa Bangla' brand resonate beyond our borders."

She met the Bengali Association of Singapore on Wednesday.
