136 men, 31 women cadets inducted into army at a passing out parade in Chennai

Chennai/UNI: A total of 136 Gentlemen Cadets and 31 lady cadets were today inducted into the Indian Aarmy after the passing out parade at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) here.

The impressive Parade was held to mark the commissioning of 136 Gentleman Cadets and 31 Lady Cadets of the SSC-109 and SSC(W)-23 Course, respectively.

In addition, eight Gentleman Cadets and three Lady Cadets from friendly foreign countries (five Gentleman Cadets and three Lady Cadets from Bhutan, two Gentleman Cadets from Fiji, one Gentleman Cadet from Papua New Guinea) also graduated on the occasion.

Admiral Karambir Singh, Aide-de-Camp, Chief of the Naval Staff reviewed the parade and presented the Sword of Honour and Gold Medal to ACA Harpreet Singh, Silver Medal to Vaibhav Mahajan, and the Bronze Medal to Varun Pratap Singh.

In his address, he complimented the Cadets and Staff of the OTA on the excellent standard displayed by all.

He exhorted the passing out cadets to always adhere to the core values of the Indian Army and strive for excellence in all the endeavours to successfully meet the security challenges faced by the Nation.
