Pune: A man and a woman, riding a motorbike, were killed when a luxury Porsche car, driven by a 17-year-old, hit their vehicle in Pune's Kalyani Nagar in the wee hours of Sunday, media reported citing police.

The accident happened at 3:15 am when Anish Awadiya and Ashwini Costa were returning home with friends on motorcycles after partying at a club, according to the police, reported NDTV.

Vedant Agarwal, 17, was driving the Porsche Taycan and rammed the speeding vehicle into the bike at the Kalyani Nagar junction, the report said.

According to the bystanders, the car was speeding at around 150 km/hr. All the airbags of the car inflated in the crash, indicating that the vehicle's sensors detected a front-end crash

The two riders were flung into the air under the impact of the crash, causing them to land on another car. They died instantly. After hitting them, the car crashed into the pavement and came to a halt, said the report.

According to media reports, the minor accused is the son of a renowned builder in Pune.

Videos on social media showed a group of people thrashing the minor as he tried to come out of his mangled car.

The police have registered a case at the Yerwada Police Station under Section 306 (Abetment of suicide), Section 279 (rash driving on public way), Section 304(a) (Causing death by negligence), Section 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), Section 427 (Commits mischief) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, media reports said.
