54.18 pct polling witnessed in UP's last phase of assembly election till 5 pm

Lucknow/UNI: An estimated 54.18 per cent out of 2.06 crore voters exercised their franchise till 5 pm for 54 seats, spread over nine districts in the seventh, and final phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on Monday.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer BDR Tiwari said that maximum 59.54 per cent votes were polled in the Chandauli district, while Azamgarh saw a 52.31 per cent turnout.

Among other districts, 54.31 per cent polling was recorded in Bhadohi, 59.54 per cent in Chandauli, 52.73 per cent in Ghazipur and 53.61 per cent in Jaunpur.

Mirzapur witnesses a 54.95 per cent polling while Sonbhadra recorded 56.86 per cent turnout and Varanasi saw 52.95 per cent voters casting their votes.
