New Delhi, Aug 22 (IBNS) A eight-member think-tank is all set to replace the Planning Commission, media reports said on Friday.

"A lean eight-member think-tank will replace the Planning Commission and it will include top economists, a social activist and a scientist,"NDTV reported quoting sources.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi may meet his predecessor Manmohan Singh, and former deputy chairman of the plan panel, Montek Singh Ahluwalia before a restructured planning commission is announced in 15-20 days," the channel reported quoting sources.

The Prime Minister last Friday said that a new institution would be formed in place of the Planning Commission.
