AAP govt in Delhi hikes water tariff by 10 pct

| | Mar 20, 2015, at 04:41 am
New Delhi, Mar 19 (IBNS): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government on Thursday hiked the water tariff by 10 percent even after it announced a free-water scheme for people in the national capital about a month ago.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisoida gave his approval to the proposal, which will be effective immediately.

The increase in tariff will effect those households which consume more than 20,000 litres of water per month.

However, the ones consuming below the level will not be effected.

The government has also decided to regularise all unauthorised water connections in Delhi by taking a fee of Rs 3,310, which was earlier charged as whopping as Rs 20,000.
