New Delhi/IBNS: Unidentified miscreants  fired shots at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Mehrauli MLA Naresh Yadav's convoy while he was coming back from temple on Tuesday late night, leaving a volunteer dead, the party said.

One party volunteer has been shot dead while another has been injured in the incident, said reports.

A Delhi police source told IBNS, "The convoy faced the attack at Kishangarh area while AAP MLA Naresh Yadav was returning from a temple visit in Mehrauli. The area has been cordoned off, 6-7 bullet shells have been recovered from the scene. An FIR has been registered at local PS, investigation underway."

The FIR has been registered at Kishangarh PS.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal is set to become the Delhi Chief Minister for the third consecutive term as his party on Tuesday swept the assembly polls in the national capital.

The AAP bagged 62 of the 70 seats while the BJP got eight seats as a distant second. Congress failed to open their account in this election.
