After Gautam Gambhir, now Paralympian Deepa Malik joins BJP

New Delhi, Mar 25 (IBNS): Paralympian Deepa Malik joined the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls  on Monday.

Deepa is the first  Indian woman to win a medal in the Paralympic Games.

INLD chairman Kehar Singh Rawat also joined the saffron party at the party headquarters here where BJP national general secretary Anil Jain and Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala were also present. 

Malik praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the work done for women and their welfare.

"Mr Modi has women in leading portfolios and he has also worked for the betterment of Divyangs," she said.

She commended the Prime Minister for working towards the social uplift of the people and his special attention for the differently-abled that 'he celebrated his birthday also withe 'divyangs'.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir had joined the BJP last week.
