Lucknow/UNI: Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) supremo Mayawati has announced that her party will support NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar for the Vice Presidential election, which will be held Aug 6.

In a couple of tweets Wednesday, Mayawati said that after supporting the NDA candidate for the post of President, now they are announcing the party's support for NDAs Vice Presidential candidate.

"It is well known that there was a lack of consensus between the ruling parties and the opposition in the election for the post of the highest President of the country, '' she said adding that now the same situation has prevailed for the election for the post of Vice President which is going to be held on Aug 6.

"In such a situation, keeping in mind the wider public interest and its movement in the election for the post of Vice President, the party has decided to extend its support to Jagdeep Dhankhar, which I am also formally announcing today," BSP president said.
