AIR Force football championship concludes at Barrackpore

Kolkata, June 22 (IBNS): The prestigious Inter-Command Air Force Football Championship 2018-19 concluded at Air Force Station Barrackpore on 21 Jun 18 at 1700hrs. 

The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Shyam Thapa (Ex football captain of India). Seven teams from the seven Air Force Commands (Central, Western, Eastern, South Western, Southern, Training and Maintenance) and one from Air HQ participated in the tournament.
          

Training Command team beat the Western Air Command team 3-1 in a spirited final match.

The winners took away the trophy while WAC got the reward for the runners-up. 

Corporal Debnath of Western Air Command was adjudged the best player of the championship.

The Chief Guest Thapa, gave away medals and prizes to the winners.

He congratulated the prize winners and also expressed his appreciation to all teams for their performance.

He stressed upon development of camaraderie in sports among sportsmen to bolster jointmanship.
