Amit Shah congratulates Tripura's CM elect Biplab Kumar Deb

New Delhi, Mar 6 (IBNS): BJP chief Amit Shah on Tuesday congratulated Biplab Kumar Deb as he was selected by the party to be the next Chief Minister of Tripura.

Biplab Kumar Deb led the BJP to script a landmark victory in Tripura in the Assembly polls.

The BJP toppled the 25-year-old Left Front rule in the northeast state.

" Congratulations to Shri @BjpBiplab on being the CM elect of Tripura. I also congratulate Shri Jishnu Deb Burman on being the deputy CM elect. I am sure under this new leadership, Tripura will scale new heights of development and progress," Shah tweeted congratulating Deb.

BJP won 43 seats in the statecand the Left 16 seats.

Meanwhile,  welcoming BJP's landmark victory in Tripura, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the win in the state will be remembered as an 'epoch-making one'.

Bipal Kumar Deb will replace Manik Sarkar as the CM of Triopura.
