Anti-social,his mother lynched to death near Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 23 (IBNS): A man, allegedly involved with antisocial activities, and his mother were beaten to death by locals on Saturday midnight at Lenin Nagar area under Chinsura Police Station limits in West Bengal's Hooghly district, reports said on Sunday.

According to reports, locals forcibly took the middle aged criminal- Gopal Majumder- from his house and had started beating him up.

When his mother, Asha Majumder, intervened to save her son, she was also beaten badly.

After being tortured for hours, they were killed on the spot and police recovered their bodies on Sunday morning.

"Gopal Majumder was an antisocial and he had several criminal records," a senior official of Hooghly district police told IBNS.

Police officials further said that a probe has been commenced into the lynching incident, while none has been arrested so far.
