New Delhi/UNI: A day after the arrest of a Delhi government official of the Women and Child Development Department and his wife for allegedly raping a minor girl and giving medicines to the girl to terminate her pregnancy, the accused official will be produced before the court on Tuesday.

However, his wife has been sent into judicial custody by the court.

According to police, the official's wife was produced in court on Monday and sent to judicial custody by the court.

On August 13, Delhi Police registered a case against the accused, who works as deputy director in the Women and Child Development department of the Delhi government, under relevant sections at Burari Police Station on the basis of a complaint from a minor girl, police said earlier.

The girl alleged that she was repeatedly raped by the official under whose care and guardianship she was staying at his house, police said.

On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ordered the suspension of this official and sought a report on the matter from the Chief Secretary.

The Delhi Commission for Women issued notices to the Delhi Police and Delhi government on Monday over an alleged sexual assault with a girl by a Delhi government official.

According to the DCW statement, the girl has alleged that the officer raped her multiple times, but the matter came to light after she was admitted to a city hospital due to an anxiety attack. The Commission asked the police to provide details of the action taken against the officer in the matter.
