Arunachal Pradesh: NSCN-K militant killed in encounter with security forces

Guwahati/IBNS: One hardcore militant of banned outfit NSCN-K was killed in an encounter with security forces in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district on Saturday.

Based on intelligence input about presence of a militant group, security forces had launched an operation at Longkai village area in the bordering district with Myanmar.

A top official of Longding district said that, when the troops reached the remote area, the militants who were hidden at that area started firing upon the security personnel and bullets exchanged.

“During the gun fight, one militant was killed on spot,” the official said.

Security personnel had recovered one pistol, ammunition and other warlike stores from the spot.

The slain militant was identified as Ganjon Wangsa.
