Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday ordered suspension of the Delhi government official accused of raping his friend’s daughter.

Kejriwal has sought a report on the matter from the Chief Secretary by 5 pm on Monday.

While talking to media persons, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said the Chief Minister has ordered to suspend an official of Women and Child Development department in Delhi government accused of raping a minor girl.

The CM has also asked the Chief Secretary to submit a report on this matter.

Recently, Delhi Police filed a case against this official under relevant sections at Burari Police Station on the basis of a complaint of victim, Delhi Police said.

She alleged that she was repeatedly raped by the official under whose care and guardianship she was staying at his house, Delhi Police said.

Taking to twitter, Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maniwal wrote, “A government officer sitting on the post of deputy director in Women and Child Development department has been accused of sexually abusing a girl child. The police have not arrested him yet, issuing notice to Delhi Police. If the one whose job was to protect the daughters turns into a predator, then where will the girls go! Must be arrested soon!.”
