Assam CM administers oath of office and secrecy to 12 new Parliamentary Secretaries

Guwahati, Sept 16 (IBNS) : Six months ahead of the assembly poll, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday administered the oath of office to the 12-newly appointed Parliamentary Secretaries.

The 13-members of the Assam Legislative Assembly were appointed as Parliamentary Secretaries to the ministers of the state government.

The 12-Parliamentary Secretaries who were administered the oath of office and secrecy are Sushanta Borgohain of Thowra, Monika Bora of Gohpur, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha of Karimganj North, Jamaluddin Ahmed of Bodorpur, Dr. Rumi Nath of Barkhala, Hemanta Talukdar of Guwahati West, Ghanashyam Kalita of Rangia, Habul Chakraborty of Dhekiajuli, Rupjyoti Kurmi of Mariani, Sanjay Raj Subba of Naoboicha, Sib Charan Basumatary of Dudhnoi and Aroti Hazarika Kachari of Dergaon LAC.

Though Arun Phukan has also been appointed as Parliamentary Secretary, he could not take oath as he was away on a Privilege Committee meeting.
